Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Skript Rooms collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to the website at www.skriptrooms.com and to the application at app.skriptrooms.com (together, the Service).
Who is responsible
The data controller is InMind, informacijske storitve, d.o.o., Šišenska cesta 45, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, company registration number 9931724000. You can reach us at hello@skriptrooms.com.
What we collect
- Account data. When you create an account we collect your name and e-mail address, and a profile picture if you add one. Sign-in is handled by a specialised authentication provider, which also stores the credentials you use to log in.
- Room content. Everything you and the people in your room put into it: cards, notes, decisions, storylines, characters, calendar events, drafts, uploaded files and the record of who did what and when. This content is yours; we store and process it only to provide the Service.
- Invitations. When you invite a writer we store the e-mail address you enter so that we can send the invitation and connect the account that accepts it.
- Video sessions. Video calls run through a video conferencing provider. A call is recorded only when someone in the call starts a recording. The recording is kept by that provider. When someone in the room asks for a transcript, the audio is sent to a speech transcription provider to produce it and is not used by that provider for anything else. The transcript is stored as room content.
- Payments. Paid plans are sold through an online reseller, who is the merchant of record. The reseller collects your payment details, billing address and tax information and processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We never see or store card numbers. We receive what we need to run your plan and keep our accounts: the name and e-mail address given at checkout, the plan, the amount and the status of the subscription.
- E-mail. Transactional e-mails (invitations, notifications) are sent through an e-mail delivery provider, which processes the recipient address and the content of the message.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider processes the usual server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the Service and keep it secure.
- Website analytics. The website uses privacy-friendly analytics that count page views and referrers without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell personal data. Our providers act as our processors under data processing agreements. The payment reseller is itself responsible for the payment data it collects. A list of the providers we currently use is available on request at hello@skriptrooms.com.
Why we process it
- To provide the Service you signed up for, including running rooms, sessions and drafts (performance of a contract).
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (legitimate interest).
- To send you e-mails that are part of the Service, such as invitations and session notifications (performance of a contract). We do not send marketing e-mails without your consent.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as accounting rules for paid plans.
Where the data is kept
Room content and account records are stored with our database and storage provider in the European Union. Some of the providers described above are based in the United States and may process data there. Where that happens we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Room content is kept for as long as the room exists; when a room is deleted its content is removed from the Service. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. Records that we must keep by law, such as invoices, are kept for the period the law requires.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us to give you access to your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, hand it over in a portable format, or stop processing it where we rely on legitimate interest. You can also complain to the Slovenian supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec), Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, www.ip-rs.si.
Cookies
The website itself sets no cookies. The application sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in; these are strictly necessary for the Service to work and are not used for tracking.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you inside the Service or by e-mail.
